There surely had to be a better way to describe how Percival Ignatius Black was feeling at the moment then merely antsy. There just had to be. But that was the only word that he could come up with as he lounged in the large chair that had come with his office. Sure, he hadn't exactly been expecting a cake walk when he signed up for this entire thing, but he hadn't been expecting it to be this hard, either. There was in fact no easy way for him to do anything at the moment. And he wasn't a fan of the gargoyle outside the entrance to his office. Entirely too talkative in his eyes. It was the most annoying thing that he had run across yet at this new job.

But other then that, he was smitten. What with the power, respect, and all those other things that came along with being the headmaster, he was high from the euphoria. Not that he actually knew what being high felt like, he had never done that kind of thing in his day. He had been a good boy, hadn't done anything like that. He had left that to his younger brothers Fred and George. Thinking about that, his heart clenched. He was still a bit torn up about Fred, even twenty years later. He stood up and started pacing, he didn't want to think about that at the moment.

He looked out one of the windows in his office. He was still adjusting to the fact that he was indeed the headmaster. It was hard for him to believe that he had actually gotten the position. It was still a bit of a shocker to him. And yet he was ecstatic about it, there was nothing else that he had wanted other then that one position. There was no telling how happy the man was at the moment. But his daughter's weren't apparently. Molly and Lucy had started beating their head on the table when he had said "guess what!" and explained it all to them the week before. But hey, they'd get used to it, right?

What was he supposed to tell his uncle? He hadn't really done anything wrong, in his opinion. So what if his desk blew up in potions? It was bound to happen... he just helped it along. The teacher had no right to send him up here. It probably didn't help his case, laughing in the teachers face when he was told to come up here.

He moved up the spiraling staircase, wondering what his uncle would do to him. Probably nothing too bad. He was an angel after all, a sweet and loveable angel. He knocked on the door and waited to be let in. He would show respect now, until he was actually inside and decided if Percy deserved respect or not. He wasn't against yelling at teachers that deserved it.

You know when you have those days that everything goes well; that it seems fate wanted you to have an easy day? A day with no problems or issues? Well, this wasn’t Lizzy’s day, not even a little bit. She woke up late, was late to all of her classes, missed lunch, lost her essay for Charms, fell down the flight of stairs on her way to Divinations, and list goes on. This day was not Lizzy Wealsey’s day; it was someone else’s in the bloody world, which pissed the red head off a bit. Karma wasn’t kind to her on days that she wanted it to be generous. Along with all of this, her wonderful Charms professor decided on sending her to the new Headmaster, who she had never met before. The seventh year Gryffie was a tine bit afraid of the new Headmaster, and was beginning to ponder on if it was a good impression for her to be sent there one his first day here. Of course it wasn’t, what in Merlin’s name could she be thinking.

Quickly, the Weasley ran her pale hand through her fiery hair. This wasn’t going to turn out well. Upon reaching the top of the Headmaster’s tower, Lizzy couldn’t help but to be nervous about the whole thing. She didn’t want the new Headmaster to not like her for making his day worst from all the paper work he probably did all day long. She would hate to sit around and just do paper work all day with no fun at all. All reason of why a person would want to do that all day eluded her simple mind, at least that what she thought. She would rather be doing work outside somewhere in the muggle world than sitting around a bloody desk doing nothing. She shrugged to herself as she came to the large oak doors of the Headmaster room. Some people were made for that kind of job, and sure as hell, she wasn’t.

Lizzy straighten out her blouse, and skirt, which the Gryffie wanted to burn so badly, to look half way decent. After her navy eyes scanned her attire, she glanced up to see the door was already cracked open. This couldn’t make the trouble maker any happier. Someone else got into trouble, too, today! The news build her spirit higher. Slowly, not wanted to disrupt anything important; and if there was two people talking, she could just sneak away and tell her professor that the Headmaster was busy.

Her eyes almost fell out of their sockets as she saw who the Headmaster was. Her uncle Percy. Well, that just ruined her day. Lizzy felt as if her world just died. This was not going to end up good, especially with her younger cousin Al there, who she didn’t notice until a few long moments after she got her head wrapped around the idea that her uncle was now the Headmaster.

Trying to be brave, the red head seventh year spoke up. “What are you doing here, uncle?” she yelled. It was the first thing that came to mind. Just because she was a Weasley didn’t mean she kept up with the latest news. “Oh,” remembering her Slytherin cousin was there, “Hello, Al. What did you do today to land you up here?” She knew like everyone else that Albus was a trouble maker, and hated to be boss around. So, Gryffindor like, but Slytherin like as well; he could easily be put in either house to her.

Percy was snapped out of his reflective state by the window when he heard a knock at the door. He took a breath had someone really done nsomething so terrible that it already warranted their being sent to his office? He groaned internally as he walked over to the door, is would seem to be so. He had known going in that these kind of things would come up, but on the first day of actual classes? To his memory, only the twins had pulled that one off.

So why wasn't he expecting to see the face of one of his nephews when he opened the door? Was it because he had a sense of optimism about the new generation? That they would be calmer, more collected then their predecessors? This apparently wasn't so. But this shouldn't really shock him and all, he should have been expecting it in fact because he ahould have remembered that he had been the only one in his family to have complete and utter respect for the rules.

He opened the door the rest of the way to let Albus is, closing it to a bare crack behind his nephew so that other students would know to wait their turn because they could tell that he was busy at the moment. "So Albus," he asked, walking over to his chair and sitting down, "what did you do to warrant being sent up here?" He mustn't play favorites he reminded himself as he waited for a response.

And yet, they were soon interrupted by another individual before Albus could respond. This day kept getting better and better. Now he was not only faced with one family member in his office, but two. He wasn't sure how he felt about that, other then not good. Should he be incensed? Should he be angry? He wasn't quite sure yet how he was going to react so he kept his demeanor calm.

"I should be asking you that question, Elizabeth," he said calmly. it was easy to tell that she was completely unsettled by this, and yet he had let her father know that he was taking this position. Apparently somethings are left out of dinnertime conversations. Either that, or Elizabeth hadn't been listening. "Sit, both of you," he stated, motioning to the chairs in front of his desk.

Albus? He thought to himself and bared his teeth at his uncle. Al wasn't going to be respectful to him now. Nobody called him Albus and still got respect for him. He hated that name. Why did so many people insist on calling him by that stupid name when his real name was Severus?

"I was going to show you respect," he said, "but now I'm not. My name is not Albus, Perce, it's either Al or Severus, understand?" He'd been about to tell his uncle what he did until they were so rudely interrupted by his cousin. "Gryffindork," he said coldly. "I was having a pleasant talk with my uncle. How dare you interrupt us?"

She let out a nervous chuckle to answer her uncle, and her younger cousin. Bringing her right hand to the back of her head, Lizzy began to rub her red hair. It was getting tangled, that was for sure, but it wasn't like it doesn't when she flies. After hearing her cousin blow up and her and her uncle, her smile still stayed on her freckled face. People might have called her insane for keeping that grin on her face, but those who knew her well knew what was going on in her head. Being no one of backing down a challenge like Albus, the Gryffindor seventh year with the most diabolical look she had given anyone. Of course, she should have been insulted by such a comment by her little cousin, but she felt complemented by it.

"Why thank you, little Al," she said with smirk on her face. There was a reason to her madness because Lizzy knew Al had anger issues, but she had a few reason she could probably get away with it. One, she was taller than him, so his threats didn't really have the punch it would normally have when a Slytherin her height. Two, she was older than him. If was to lash out with curses, her uncle could handle him, or she could. Third, Lizzy could knock the poor kid out much faster than he could mutter a curse under his breath. Just because they were related didn't mean she won't hurt him from hurting her. Instincts, and Darwinism at its best.

"So squirt, the Weasley stated as she took a seat in front of her loving uncle, " I don't think you and our uncle were talking about anything important, but all I hear was from his mouth was'what did you do to warrant being sent up here?' Most people don't consider that to be a conversation, cousin, so I don't recommend to start rewriting the world order. Chaos, I heard, is not pretty."

Of course, she totally ignored the Headmaster question of why she was here. It was better to find out why Al was here. Uncle Percy could deal with Albus' attitude problem while she watch. Yes, that was an excellent idea.

Had he been anywhere else and with any other people (read: not members of his famiy), his head would have always been in his hands, fingertips rubbing his temples, trying to let the emotions bubble back to normal. Adults were much more accepting of things that would calm people down but children and family were not. In fact, some days it seemed that they existed just to aggravate him.

He had forgotten how incredibly picky the child in front of him was about his name. It was not Albus apparently, even though that is what it said on his birth certificate. But blatant disrespect was not something that he would not stand for in his presence and in his office especially. "Albus," he said sternly, crossing his arms in front of him, "you will afford me the respect that my position and our relation dictates. Thereby I suggest you tell me why you are here."

He was having that feeling again, where he wanted to rub his temples, hold his head in his hands, and start dealing with the rage that was slowly building at the moment. It was the same feeling that he often had: family was a burden many days. Sure, he'd learned the lesson that they are important, but he was still stuck in the rut of not liking the fact that they were all there and making trouble much of the time.

He looked over to his neice, who seemed intent in egging her young cousin on. "Elizabeth, you should stop egging Albus on and answer my question now," he said, still sternly. He knew that he had to keep everything fair for students, family or not. He couldn't be treating one group one way and another differently.

Elizabeth was his cousin and he saw her alot during the summertime, so he could fight with her anytime he wanted. He decided to ignore her comments about him and he kept his attention on Percy, who had just called him Albus again. He may be young, but he would appreciate it if his wishes weren't ignored. He was old enough to choose his own name.

"I will answer your question truthfully as soon as you respect my wishes and call me by my name and not the name that my parents chose for me. They really don't know how to name a child." Al always spoke of his parents that way. He couldn't even begin to count how many times he'd gotten yelled out by members of his family for being so disrespectful to his parents. "I said that my name was Severus."

He smirked at Elizabeth when Percy turned on her. "Yeah, Elizabeth, stop egging on the evil Slytherin and answer Uncle Perce. I'm really intrested in knowing why a good girl like you is in here."

Had all the fun and humor been sucked out the room because of Albus and her uncle? She gave a low snort in aggravation at the people in the room. Why was she the center of attention right now? Not like she didn't love being in the lime light; if Lizzy didn't then she wouldn't have been in the Headmaster's office for the- she begin to count in her head. As the eldest Weasley child counts in her head, a thought comes to her.

Why do fish jump out of the water instead of just staying in the water? They don't need pure oxygen, at least that was what the red haired girl remembered. Her blue eyes glazed over as random thought popped into her head. Why do muggles have photo I.D? It was easy to put a pick of yourself on other person's I.D card. And all so, you age, so your appearance change over time. You don't always look the way you do all the time.

Her cousin's bitter remark made her want to laugh in Albus' face. Lizzy had been in the Headmaster's office far more times in a year than he would ever be in seven years of being here. Of course, he had to bring up the stupidity of Slytherin and Gryffindor. He was racist that way. To the pale prankster, Albus was cruel for a reason; hell, if she was always known as 'The son of Harry Potter', she would be pissed off all the time too. Being famous is not want it is what it is made out to be.

Upon rolling her navy blue eyes, Lizzy looked at ther cousin with disgust. "Just because I am a Gryffie, doesn't mean I play by the rules Albus Serverus," she said, " And I have never been called a good girl, angel boy." Slowly, she brought her left hand to the back of her head and began to rub the back of her head. "And to answer your question uncle, you need to ask Albus first because he was the first one here and all. So, once he answers why he is here, I'll be glad to tell you why I am here," another teethful grin was flashed at her extremely important uncle.

It wasn't like she didn't like him nor respected him. It was just... to Lizzy, Percy was always uptight about everything. When she played with in her other uncle's joke shop, he would say that she would just have to grow up one day. Sometimes, her father and him would yell at each other because... well she doesn't remember because it was so long ago. But other family members, seem to look dishearten at her father's eldest younger brother. But like Albus, he was still family. She respected him for many reasons; he was loyal, he was independent of the family, but still loved them ( at least she thinks so).

It was a new feeling now. It was a more general aggravation with the world (and the children around him). These two were really managing to wear the sheen off of the new job ever so quickly. There was nothing that he could really do about that, but he did wish that they hadn't ruined his hopes for a peaceful school year so completely and so early on as well. This just wasn't going well at all. He was just having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that his ideal was currently lying in ruins at the bottom of the stairs outside his office.

"Would you two cut it out?" he said, wringing his hands over his desk and wishing that they would just shut up for a moment or two, but that seemed to be impossible at the moment. There was nothing that could stop the slow, downward spiral of the day and the moment and this encounter at the moment. He was currently up a creek without a paddle and facing a huge waterfall.

He was not going to bow to the wishes of a twelve-year-old, not no way, not no how. So he would compromise and come up with something else. "Mr. Potter," was his final decision as he nested his hands together and set them on his desk, "answer the question." He was really starting to get angry by now, but there was nothing that he could do to control that, he almost wanted to beat his head on the desk in front of him.

He looked over to his niece, who was being just as stubborn and troublesome as her cousin. "Elizabeth," he said with a level gaze, "you will answer my question, even if you cousin does not, do you understand me?" He was not surprised at the fact that she was acting like George, she had practically grown up with the man. But it was still rankling a nerve at the moment.

He was going crazy, it was officially official. His mind was being sent through the vast meat processor of being a school administrator, learning slowly what it meant to be the head cheese, el jefe, the big man on campus. This was something that he had wanted, but there were still some kinks that he was trying to work out at the moment in this entire administratorial lifestyle. He simply wasn't used to it yet.

He was not going to bow to the wishes of a twelve-year-old. That simply wasn't happening.

Percy was getting angry with them and that always made Severus angry. He looked at his cousin. "You're making Percy mad. Honestly, girl, can't you just answer the question?" He rolled his eyes. She was trying to act more troublesome than him and she wasn't. This was only his second year at the school, but he had already been up here quite a bit. Not too mention, all the trouble he caused when he wasn't in school. "Stop trying to act like you're worse than me. We all know I'm the worst." He smirked to show how proud he was of it.

Percy called him Mr. Potter. He wasn't going to let that pass. He hated people calling him that as much as he hated being called Albus. "Headmaster Perfect You're getting me mixed up with my father. I know I do sort of look like him, but I'm not my father. My name is severus." He put emphasis on the name. He wasn't going to rest until Percy called him it. He was determined to get his way.

He leaned back in the chair, looking at his uncle, smirking. "I'm not going to tell you why I'm here until you call me by my name," he said. "I will tell you that it's stupid reason, the teacher obviously hates me and it was bound to happen, I was just helping it." The teacher hating him was his excuse for everything. "Gonna give me detention? Tell mummy and Daddy?" He rolled his eyes. Like that would really help.
